Caspar David Friedrich's "Wanderer in a Sea of Mist"

A poem I wrote on Caspar David Friedrich's "Wanderer in the Sea of Mist," a painting from the Romantic period.  The Romantic period arouses high emotions, and infuses with high emotional expressions, in fine arts and in literature (Mary Shelly's Frankenstein is an example of literature written during the Romantic period).

This is the first poem I wrote which I included my own rhyme scheme.

Wanderer in the Sea of Mist

Out of the plateau and in back of dry rocky lands,
A man in a fuzzy, frothy coatée heaves in sight,
And below him lies an acute crag, a steep cliff stands,
He has traveled to this far-flung place, far-off the shore lines,

He stands stony upright with his stick, haze in a fog,
Haze over a soaring land of misty fog that cloud,
Haze of rain clouds in the sky where curds brew,
Painted scene imbued with mist and dew,

Dews that sprinkle with rain drops and awaken your eyes,
The rocky terrain makes me want to dowse,
Quest and travel on, beyond this, that much of an escapade,
For I am a wayfarer booted with traces of grime,

And I run to the edge until I am soaring with glad,
And I wander until I light upon a new birth and find,
Birth of an unknown, beyond what I’ve braved on this spot.
