Epic Poem from the Pirates of the Caribbean
The following epic poem was inspired by Jacque Louis David's Oath of the Horatii, a painting from the Neoclassical era. Neoclassical ideas of Patriotism, Courage, and Loyalty to a Cause was integrated in my rendition of the epic poem inspired by its neoclassical idea and the symphony music that carries the background in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean.
I call forth an army of men,
To march on in courage in a coup d’etat,
Against the fiefdom and diktat,
For the people, courage, and duty bound,
Men who toil at their labor,
Bound together to form an espirit de corps,
And thwart the regime down, lead a coup,
For the People, by the People, who labor,
Folks in smithy and in parlors,
Bound together to devolve and divest,
Bastion of the ruling party, the dealers,
Dealers who indulge in epicurean feasts,
Usurp the powers in seditious thrashing, thwart
Throng of People in thunderous voices cry across,
Marches on in the thick of the revolt.
