Painting a New Canvas
The following poem was inspired from the movie Adventureland, a teen flick you can catch for at home on DVD or Blu-Ray. This poem also has Shakespearean Sonnet rhymes scheme.
Paint a New Canvas
How shall I
paint a fresh new canvas?
I have
fancied motley of blondes-beryls-cherries to my eyes,
And thou
doth hath the sparkly bluest eyes, which tints I harnessed,
As thou drew
me near and held me in thy tender arms,
I imagined myself
with thee on a clear, pristine beach,
We lie in Caribbean
waters under baby blue skies,
I have come
from carnage where good fortune were besmirched,
By the means
of not sparkly eyes like thine, but glint and scheme,
Where fortunes
and goods were sullied by an unsightly,
Unsightly being, with wraith as haughty as a carbuncle,
But I shall
repaint a new canvas with thee blessedly,
Sullen days be gone, restored with joyous sans monocles,
Because time
spent with thee is as sweet as glacé berries,
Chilled in
summertime, thy subtle shades were colors serried.
