The Swan
Swans

Swan is my spirit animal. Peaceful residing animals on lakes, they can be territorial when foreign invaders intrudes in their space. Swans are also one of the few —monogamous animals; therefore they mate for life. Other animals mate monogamously also: possums and penguins.
The Swan
Over sheer skies at the lake dweller,
Swans bask in basin, a day like nectar,
At this lake, wind wafts by pool of water,
She takes a wash, clouds drift cyanic collage,
Russet leaves whiffle about on the earth,
Autumn foliage gleams in pool of water,
Like a boat plying across the river,
She spreads her snow-white wings, gives birth,
And with her wings, she skews along water,
Suffused with lustrous aureole,
She sinks her pate in the waters,
Her swan neck unfurls like a lady’s stole,
She pairs with her mate, a bond that flies first,
First class of family from wide blue yonder,
An undying bond made under her hearth,
A rare breed, be made one at the altar,
Thus her one and only half be well worth.
