In Living Memory Of . . .

Gia Carangi, first supermodel who died of AIDS

In living memory of . . .  those who lived their lives in the fast lane:  Gia Carangi, James Dean.  Anyone else comes to mind?  Legends in time, they leave a cult of young followers; hence their iconic name lives on.  Call them the wild child, the unbridled, lives high on roaming freely, wildly in the open terrain.

James Dean's life came at a screeching halt by a fatal car accident, ending his life at the young age of twenty-four.  Gia Carangi died of AIDS after being a sought-after supermodel in the high-fashion world.  The ultimate cool Aquarians who are often rebellious living freely without rules or limits.

The following poem is inspired by their past living:

The Wild Child

Racing down an open highway,
Rush outstrip the wind,
Windblown hair, stiff tires skid,
Rush, thrill, titillates, spine tingle away,
Away inside, outside my body,
Away on a generous pay-day,
Day, the same, raving road rage runs ill-wind,
Day turns frenzy, comes to a screeching still,
Still ravenous lush to cash in glassy,
Still set high-class world to glory,

Glory to new face, high-flying rally,
Glory hangs fire, a rumpus road,
Road is rough, unbridled fjord,
Fjord, here I roam freely, wildly till midway,
Fjord, here I race wild in the city,
City is far, the road, wide,
City spots, far-flung, catch my eyes,
Eyes for what fun gets out for chills,
Eyes for thrills,
Thrills for the high life, I say,
Thrills come alive, that’s where I’ve been,
Been through it all my life, my way,
Been living for the time in the pink.
